The three states of matter

The three states of matter are solids, liquids and gas'.

Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space.

Mass = how much matter is in an object. (Measured with a balance). Unit for measurment: grams (g) and kiliograms (kg).

PROPERTIES OF THE STATES OF MATTER

SOLID: has a definite shape and volume but can not compress and particles cannot flow.

LIQUID: particles CAN flow and does not have a definite shape ( liquids take the shape of the container that they are poured into). Cannot compress and does have a definite volume.

GAS: can flow and compress. Does not have a definite shape or volume.

Enclosed is a helpful/educational video on our current concept:

REVISION SO FAR:

Solid, liquid and gas.

Solids can't compress or flow and do have definite shapes and volumes.

Liquids can flow and have definite volumes. They do not have definite shapes and CAN'T be compressed.

Gas's can flow and have a definite volume. They can't compress and don't have a definite shape.

MATTER: Anything that has space and mass.

MASS: How much matter an object takes up.

                                                Change of state

SOLID (melt) LIQUID (boil) GAS (melt) LIQUID (freeze) SOLID.

DIFFUSION: The flow of particles from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.

How to go about a social media detox

Okay so it's simple, right?. No phone for a week, easy-peasy. Well along with annoying temptation and not being able to check up on your friends and pals, a social detox (time away from the internet and your mobile phone/devices) may be tremendously difficult for the average individual. So in this exclusive blog post here on Kayla's Blog, we will venture into the complex list of tips and tricks on how to go about a social media detox.

    1. Resist the urge

Easier said than done. You may wish to just post a selfie on Instagram or start a streak on Snapchat, however ask yourself the query; "Do I need to do that right now?". And do not attempt to try and find a loop hole, you do not need to head onto the internet. In fact you should have a house phone (a phone in witch you keep at home and can only call people on) so that you have no excuses to call somebody as if you really need to the house phone will be there.

2. with every detox go stronger

What I mean by this title is to do more extreme detox's. Start off with a day of no devices, then three days, then perhaps a week, then slowly engage onto a month or more.

Make sure to be careful with what you post/comment online/on the internet!. Take breaks from it every now and again!!.

Secondary school- How To Get Great Grades

Grades are vital. To sincerely master secondary/high school, you must self-teach yourself the most significant mindset to apply to the procedure. Accordingly, said mindset is a key component in the procedure. To extremely and in additional wreath, utterly begin to attempt secondary school and gain points, you must inspect your personal mindset. If all proclaimed, your mindset is contemporary, and 'needs a bit of work' , then adjust your mindset. Accept exigent changes with the current level of persise/certain education.

Make sure to raise your hand and answer the questions!. Once you do you'll obtain the information better.

Do quite a bit of studying- invest time and effort into it. Add it into your routine. Each day after school, study for an hour.

How I feel about online school

Another non-school lockdown was announced in my country two days before the 4th of January 2021.     And when my secondary school switched to the Microsoft Teams platform to do the schooling, it arose many issues for me.

This is not my first time doing online school, I did this form of education back in the last few months of primary school, A.K.A the huge lockdown. However that was on the platform known as Seesaw and Teams differs tremendously to that concept of primary online teaching.

As a bit of background, my school had started using teams last year during the immense lockdown and the staff had always felt that there would be another lockdown so they kept Teams. And they were correct. We were told to send in our homework ever since we began secondary on Teams so we were used to the basic strategy of the platform. However, when we converted full time to the online teaching via the Teams platform, various/numerous issues began to occur.

Let us begin with the statistic of overload. If you are unfamiliar with MS Teams first of all, instead of homework, you send in a photograph of the assigned obhair (Gaelige for 'work'), into the assignment set by your teacher. The assignments were rather hectic and abrupt in coordination to the concept of a new person to the platform. Allow me to explain. I was 'new' to Microsoft Teams and the assignments were rather difficult to keep up with. I desired to go to sleep early as per each night, yet with another quick glance at Teams a tremendous quantity of assignments were due that night. It was tiresome, what ca I say?. The assignments kept on overflowing and my brain cells overloaded. It was difficult to actually obtain the sources of data/information when so many of the assignments were due. Upon deeper inspection it was crystal clear to me that I certainly was not the only individual in depth of a workload tackling online schooling. Plenty of my classmates spoke up personally about their issues with the amount/quantity of obhair being produced rapidly and my younger cousin and younger sister felt the exact same way about the immense workload.

Online school is as though as rocks, however together we can make it through this.

How to be a 'good kid'

Being a good kid may seem obvious. In the correct mindset of the average Joe one might assume that being a good kid is simple and certainly not specifically suited for 'complex tasks'. Being a good daughter/son is indeed complex to immense measures. It is not just about achieving decent grades and doing chores!. That is not so correct!.

To me being successful means being a kind, genuine, good-hearted, open-minded person.             -unknown

1. Do not misbehave!!

I cannot stress this component enough!. If you are bold in the slightest form you shall undeniably face the consequences of punishment!. However it is not just the acceptance of punishment that you would have to face in this occasional occurrence!, the impression that you shall construct on your parents is awful. So even when your siblings are being cheeky or in general are acting up, do not join in!. Be the mature one.

  2. Rumors and lies are not the way to go!

In school you need to respect other children and the teachers/staff!. I would sincerely recommend saying thank you often and not getting involved with school fights/drama!!. And definitely do not lie to your school friends and classmates. In fact do not lie to anybody. Especially consider the bad misfortune that may erupt in the long-run. Nobody likes a liar and when you pursue in a lie you are doing something bad. Do not lie. Rumors are practically lies in additional as they are typically untruthful. You should avoid these too.

3. Have basic manners

Always ask if you want to do something. Now not exactly everything!. However you should ask to go onto the internet, exit/leave the dinner table, and reside to your bedroom at night. You must learn to be polite, do not judge people based on appearances or looks, always say please and thank you, never be moody or rude and always give out honest compliments.

4. Do not do things you know you are not supposed to be doing

For example: do not watch/view inappropriate content, such as bad pictures and videos. Never talk to strangers on the internet, you don't know them. Never give into peer pressure either, trust me you'll regret it.

And that's a wrap!.. I hope you all enjoyed!. Make sure to do well in school additionally!.

PeriPage mini printer reveiw

For Christmas last year one of my gifts was a Peripage mini printer. As one may conclude, I was sincerely ecstatic. I adored this present.

The printer in general was of high quality, I dropped it a couple of times by accident and it faced no damage. The printer does work but it is in black and white.  The pictures do fade back into the printer paper after a few months albeit. I am attempting not to be too critical in this review due to the cunning fact that the Peripage mini printer in observation was an exceptional present/device and I am grateful to own it.

The device comes in a variety/range of numerous pigments, I got mine in blue.

The way the printer contracts is not complex: you insert one of the paper rolls of printer paper, charge the device (the charger should be included) and download an app called Peripage. Once set up on the device's app through your smart phone, you can type your own messages or even print out photographs or downloaded pictures!.

Overall I believe that the device is an exceptional invention and once again I am fortunate to own one. 😀

Graphs- explained simply. What are graphs and examples.

Graphs are sources of visual representation to display quantities of numerical data.

For example:

John surveyed the class to discover the most popular type of pet. His results were as follows.

Cat- 4

Dog- 12

Bird- 2

Hamster- 6

A. what is the most popular type of pet in John's class?.

B. How many students are in this class?.

C. Display this data.

Zoning in on query 'C' of this question we are asked to display the data.

To display numerical data we can adjust a graph into the solution/final submission of this question/query.

However, there is a large quantity of graphs to choose from. Ranging from bar charts to line plots it can be rather complex.

Bar charts

( Bar charts )

Bar charts are a graph consisting of vertical bars and the horizontal and vertical axis. The numerical source of the data ( in this case the quantities of students ) are situated precisely/accurately on the vertical axis, whilst the bars are specifically situated on the horizontal axis.

Please feel free to watch this YouTube video corresponding to the concept of bar charts:

The width of the bars must all be the same. And the space between the bars must be of the same length.

Find a summary of bar charts here:

Line plots

Line plots are basically a line with accurate placements of bullet points. There are small 'x's above the bullet points to represent the data. The important thing with line plots is to be accurate and precise. Place the bullet points the same length away from each other and make sure your 'x's aren't too far away from each other.

Take a lot at some of those videos to get a better idea of the concept of line plots.

Hydroelectric power (HEP)

Greetings geology studies students 👋. I hear you need some help understanding or grasping the concept of hydroelectric power. Well, you've certainly come to the correct place as I will be explaining the key points and some other vital information about hydroelectric power here at Kayla's Blog!.

Defenition- simple and complex

Here I have included a simple to understand definition of HEP and a more advanced definition. Choose whichever benefits you the most 😊.

Simple

Hydroelectric power means creating electricity using water.

Advanced

Hydroelectric power is the main renewable energy resource that converts water from rivers into electricity by using the water to turn a wind turbine which generates electricity.

Key words:

Hydroelectric power

Dam

Wind turbine

impermeable

Hydroelectric power station

Hydroelectric power station requirements:

A water supply- usually from rivers. You need the water to turn the wind turbine.

A slope- a HEP station needs to be built in an area where there is a drop in the course of the river. This slope/drop will ensure the rapid pace of the river.

Impermeable bedrock- you cannot lose any water. Permeable rock is the rock that water can sink through so you need your rocks if any to be impermeable.

Climate- you need a climate with a lot of rainfall to maintain the water levels. A dry climate would not be beneficial for a hydroelectric power station as the water could evaporate and the levels of the water would be low.

In the works:

So how does this renewable energy resource function?.

You need to have a dam across a river. A dam is a concrete wall that controls the flow of water. What does this dam do?. Well, the dam traps water. When part of the dam opens, water quickly flows through. That water is used to turn a wind turbine which generates electricity.

Examples of wind turbine stations:

In China there is the three georges dam.

In Ireland there is one in County Cork called the Inniscara dam.

A girls goal

Hello fellow readers!. Before we begin I would like to share with you some ecstatic news!. I have began my very own YouTube channel!. It is called Kayla's Magical World ( a product of my eight-year old imagination!). I already have two short videos on the platform!.

I adore learning as you may have already known and as a result I want to learn the basic of a bunch of languages in 2021!. Amongst them is French and Italian.

Irish- I have been learning this language for seven years now in school although I am not fluent. This year I plan to work at least two hours a week on the Irish language not inclusive of the hours spent in school. I plan   to study online using Irish poems and stories, take references from my Irish textbook, apply the Irish terms onto common objects in my home and purchase some books in Irish. Duolingo will be used for this language!.

Japanese- I know nothing out of the context of this language so far!. I have yet to even begin studying it!!. However I hope to embark out of 2021 knowing the basics of this language and have a clear history of the Japanese culture. I plan to use Duolingo and other platforms on the internet to learn Japanese ( YouTube too!). I also plan to listen to audio of the language of Japanese and purchase some books. I plan to watch Japanese television shows and listen to audio books. I plan to purchase a Japanese dictionary online and have it delivered to my home so I can observe the language in immense detail. I will attempt to learn five new phrases a day and if I progress decently on that activity, I will buckle it up to ten.

Italian- I do not know much if not any Italian. However, I would like to learn this language. I plot to speak Italian for twenty minutes a week and do Duolingo and Mondly online. I wish to purchase some books written in the language and read those. To improve my sense of audio and listening skills in the broad/vast concept, I will listen to audio books and watch Italian television shows, listening attentively all the while. I may or may not purchase an Italian learning guide additionally.

French- Last year I began to use Duolingo (a language learning website/app) to study French. I loved the website!. It was so thrilling and I knew that the French language was one I needed to learn!. Then in late September I joined my schools French class. I had no friends in that class, however it allowed me to concentrate. I got a French textbook when I joined so I study the subject from that currently too!. Seeing as I would like to extend my French vocabulary and already possess/contain a textbook with the basics inside, I will purchase one or two books written in French. This will allow me to learn how to read French!. I additionally with listen attentively to audio online and plot to have a look at that textbook!.

English- Obviously I am fluent in English as it is my first language, however in order to extend my English vocabulary I will read and listen to boks/audio books. Additionally I may or may not be getting a kindle for my birthday, so that's to look forward to!.

2021- Peace After The War?.

2020 personally was a highly odd year for me. There was immense quantity of crazy things going on!. However 2021 seems to have it in the mix for me. And I can't wait to tell you why!!.

Firstly, I plan to publish my first ever novel before the end of May this year!!!. I won't hazard a spoiler, albeit it's going to be great!!!. Oh, do you know any decent publishing company's?, I am based in Ireland if required. Anyways, this has been a goal i have wanted to achieve for some time now, well ever since March in 2020 at least!.

Another tremendous/significant change for me will be my reading. I plan to read three books per week this year  (2021). Alas, my grades will rise hopefully. I am top of my class in each subject I am proud to proclaim, yet I possess/contain a cunning desire to get higher grades as I crave an understanding for accomplishment.

Andddddd a holiday!. Yes, the devil of 2020 has had a silver lining for me!. You see, my family and I had set a trip to a holiday park in Holland/The Netherlands, but alas it got post-ponded due to Covid-19, thus to 2021!. This may sound crazy, albeit the cunning fact that I  appreciate the vacation way more currently as said fact. The water park is called duinreel and I am positive/certain that you have heard of it as it has the biggest waterslides in Holland!. It also looks awesome and I adore/admire the tikki pool!.

Anyways, i'll see you all at the next blog post!.

Body percussion from Music Generation

The above video inclusive of this blog post is an example of 'body percusssion'.

Hello everyone!. Welcome to or back to Kayla's Blog. Today I would like to discuss a great experience I have had a few weeks ago. Can you recall the three program?, well there may have been a forth addition!. You see, a woman from Music Generation came to our pastoral care lesson four weeks ago. She said we would be participating in a body percussion lesson. To start we all went around the room and did what I quite frankly thought to be an introduction activity. We all said our names one at a time and everyone would repeat that persons name whilst clapping. (Example: Student: "Milo", everyone: clap "Milo" clap). Then we did something called ' pass the beat around the room'. You would get a certain word-some people were rests!- and would clap with a speedy tempo to said word. Later we had lots of fun with cups singing Christmas songs!!.

I enjoyed the body percussion!.

The George Nkencho situation

Okay I actually have had it. George Floyd died in June, and recently another unfortunate black soul lost his life to police brutality. In Dublin on the 30th of December 2020 George Nkencho was shot dead by Irish police ( Gardai ), in Hartstown. The 27 year old had experienced racist bulling as he had a Nigerian back round. Basically, he was threatening people with a knife, the police arrived, he was going home, the police followed convincing him to drop the weapon, and then they shot him in the back as he was at his house. This is terrible!. Many agree and are protesting. We demand justice for George Nkencho!!!!.

An extended Christmas/new year mid-term?

Yes yes Christmas is over, believe me I know. However, in Ireland our new years celebration will be in two days. The government has urged us to keep our numbers reasonable  for Christmas and new year celebrations, but things are not looking so good. For starters, many people ignored this protocol and met with friends and family all over the country and some even abroad. Secondly, yesterday we got 1,718 new confirmed cases. Key word: confirmed. So, at this rate, of course the government had to take action.

We are on a full level five lockdown.

Primary and secondary school students mid-term break for Christmas/new years is being extended for a week.

IRISH VACCINE FOUND

It's official- we have a vaccine!

After a long tiresome wait, we (the republic of Ireland) have discovered a vaccination!. The test results were said to be 'promising'.

Two Irish scientists, who were involved with the development of a coronavirus vaccine at Oxford university, have said the results from phase three of the trials are 'fantastic' and 'promising'                                                           - RTE news

So who created said vaccination?.

British drugs group, AstraZeneca and the two Irish scientists from the University of Oxford.

The first Pfizer vaccine was given out to a 79 year old woman from Dublin. Her name was Annie Lynch. Annie said; "I feel very privileged to be the first person in Ireland to receive the vaccine. Like everyone else I have been waiting for the vaccine and I feel like there is a bit of hope there now. It's brilliant that it's here. Everything was explained clearly to me beforehand".

The first dose was short and sweet- extra.ie

Where can I get the vaccine?.

Four hospitals will be the settings for the first 2,000 vaccinations: Saint James Hospital and Beaumont in Dublin and the Cork and Galway university hospitals.

We are beginning the first 10,000 doses, starting today ( 29th December 2020).

Today is a ray of light after what has been a trying year in our country- Stephen Donnelly Minister of health

Facts:

  • Around 10,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine arrived in Ireland on St Stephens day.
  • Bernie Waterhouse was the first healthcare worker to get the vaccine
  • The roll-out of the vaccine to nursing home residents and staff is expected to start next week.

A little thank you

Hello!. I hope you are all safe and healthy ❤️. Your almost through this demotic year!. 2020 has not been friendly!.

But we ain't talking about the new year!. It is Christmas Eve ( at least where I live ). And I just wanted to thank you all. As you know, I started this blog on May the 1st 2020, eight months ago!. It feels like yesterday thank I was writing my first blog post. Thanks to all the people who read my blog posts with a smile. 2020 was my first year blogging, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!. Thank you everyone!. And additionally, merry Christmas!!.

A new strain of Covid-19?. A new lockdown??.

Coronavirus. It killed millions. And it's still around!, So keep sanatizing and social distancing. I understand you are all sick and tired of hearing this, however we must follow protocol!. Save lives!!. Protect yourself and loved ones!!. Wear a mask!.

In late February my primary school went on our one week mid term, not because of Covid, but it got extended immensely due to the virus. We stayed on lockdown until late August, when I went to secondary school under strict restrictions. And when a wave of Covid-19 came before Halloween midterm ( up to 1000  new cases a DAY! ), another lockdown was issued. Schools and workplaces remained open however.

Then we just kept fazing into level 5, level 3,2...e.t.c, for a long duration. I live in Ireland and we are doing these levels, with each level more strict, kinda like the idea of the richer scale.

Now, with cases rising yet again, there has been hushed talk of another lockdown. We are already on  our Christmas holidays for 2020, but may be in another sinister lockdown, like our six-month shutdown.

My mother and I were flicking through her Facebook feed the other day, and noticed a video of a guy informing people of a new strain of Covid-19. It was additionally on the RTE news!. This new strain spreads vastly, and immensely in speed rates.

So will we be in another lockdown?. We'll soon see!.

The hot seat

Back in 2016-2017, I faced the worst thing ever, the doomed hot seat. The basic idea of the hot seat was that the students and teacher would ask you questions, about times tables, witch were my worst enemy practically!!. Nobody, wanted to be picked, due to the cunning fact that you only had twenty seconds to respond. I rarely was picked, as I was initially quiet and people barley noticed me!, some described me as a 'mouse'.

However, once day I was picked, and I possess/contain a vivid recalling of the event. I was petrified, I kept holding on to the hot seat, praying for it to be over soon. We began with simple equations, however that quickly escalated. A student in my class asked me a twleve times table, witch was difficult enough, but the student made it thirteen times twelve, witch was extremely and utterly difficult.

Now, I don't know about you, but my first primary school, only went up to the twelves. So I did not know the solution this this inquiry. I looked at my teacher expectantly, thinking she would tell the student to change their table, but her expection was that I knew it, so the replied with "go on".

I failed.

However failure is a part of life, and I'm glad I went through the experience and it left me with some decent content for my blog!.

Rugby fun. The three programme

Hello again!. Hopefully you have been keeping up with this blog because we are at the last part of the three programme, the rugby training ⭐. Unfortunately, 'Kia' wasn't in again, as she was ill, however that day I was a pro and told myself not to worry about not having a partner, and that it would work itself out. Now, if your sitting there thinking, "does this girl not have any other friends?", the fact of the matter is that I do, but some were in other classes, and my two pals, 'Shasha' and 'Luke' were going to be partners, so there was no partner left for me.

Finally, after a couple of classes, the art/pastrol care teacher came to collect us, although this time around, we'd be going up to my school's main building to use the vast pitch. A famous rugby players father would be teaching us. He was not a complete stranger although, as he had thought us for a few weeks back in fifth class, two years ago.

I walked with Shasha and Luke ( not their real names ), into the felid. The sun was shining and it felt heavingly, well apart from the stinging sensation it provoked on our eyes. There was a great greeting, and then the sounded the purge alarm. ( Not literally, he just told us to pick partners, and it felt as bad as it would feel if the purge alarm actually occured, a comparison if you may ).

We had to choose a partner. "Get into pairs" was the exact sentence. I was so nervous but luckily a girl called ' Grace' ( not her real name, it's a fake name for her for privacy ), rang out the bells of heaven with a sentence "Does anyone not have a partner". And then she noticed me. And long, story short, we became partners.

The first excersise was to pass the rugby ball to your partner without it falling, and see how many times you could do that for.

Then, we had to stay in a square, ( it was roomy not cramped) marked by cones and pass the rugby ball to random people. But here's the catch, we had to call out the person's name, and do a random excersise before passing the ball to someone. This went on for a while and the excerisses were changed every once in a while.

Next we played ' bulldog'. Where three people would be the 'bulldogs' and have to catch the others who would be running to get behind the other cones on the other part of the pitch. We played a few rounds and I totally enjoyed it!.

Then we played someone I hated, there would be a separation of two teams. Your partner was on the other team. You would face each other. Each pair were assigned a number. Me and ' Grace' were number eight, the last number.

If he called your number, you'd have to run to a fine then to another cone, whilst your partner ran to their cones. There would be a Tema that had to prevent the other player from scoring by taping them three times with their rugby ball, I was usually on that team.

When the day wrapped up, I spoke with 'Shasha', 'Luke', and another guy I'm friendly with, let's call him "Mark" for privacy reasons. They all had their individual parts to say about the experience. Personally I got hit in the face with a rugby ball and was swearing madly, but I loved the activity, and he might be back in April!.

The three programme was amazing!.

Circuit training. The three programme

Hi again!, I hope you are all having a wonderful winter!!. Christmas is just around the corner!, what are you asking for this year?, and what will you be giving??.

Anyways, let's get started with today's blog post 😁.

If you haven't already, I would peculiarly advise for you to read my blog post, ' my marcial arts class, the three programme ' as there might be a few slight spoilers.

I did not mention in the previously mentioned blog post, however these random one-class activities, were part of a three-part programme. Basically, the art teacher in my school was leaving soon, and as a kind result, she contacted my countys ' county council '. It was a voluntary thing, as far as I know and understand. Every Wednesday instead of doing pastrol care, (  the art teacher was also the pastrol care teacher ), we would do an excersise/activity. The last week, it was marcial arts and that week it was circuit training.

We pilled back into the homely hall with a spring of confidence, and a wave of familiarity. This time unfortunately, 'Kia' was absent. So, when assigned to form small groups of three, I was delighted when let's call him 'Luke' ( not his real name), and 'Shasha' (not her real name) offered me a chance to join their group. I had spoken a few times with them, and they were very friendly and caring.
There were six stages, each entertaining. My group started at a stage with heavy sports balls and orange cones. We already possessed a clear understanding of the stages, as we were given a quick demonstration.

We lifted up the balls over our heads and dropped them down abruptly, as instructed, they landed with a huge thud!!.

The next stage was frantic!!!. We had to do pull ups!. It was not my favourite point, however I was decent at the excersise, so pride made me relax a tiny bit, a good outcome.

Eventually we wounded up at the third stage witch was to rather complicated. There was a mar with feet marks and a thing on the middle of the mat. Basically, we had to jump over to the other side on the foot marks 👣. I enjoyed this, but it was rather tiring!!.

Moving forward, we moved to the next stage, witch is kind of difficult to explain. We had to get on our hands ( basically a push up pose ), and walk in to our stomach, then jump up. This was again another tiring activity.

Finally we got to my favourite stage, the 'mountain walkers'. There were yoga mats, and we would basically do the same thing as the previous stage, bar the jumping.

The last stage was simple, just a few jumping jacks.

I loved the day's work, even though I was burned out afterwards!!.

What to get a smart girl for Christmas.

Christmas is a time of happy spirts, but for many people a time for gifts too 😉. Here are my top picks for what to get a smart girl for Christmas.

And you don't have to be smart to ask for some of these!!. Let's get it on!.

1. Typewriter
Is your teen dreaming of becoming a future BESTSELLING author??. Well kickstar their dreams by investing in the succesed purchase of a typewriter!!. These fab machines can generate words onto paper real time without a printer or laptop 💚. They trace back years!, But of course ours are more advanced now 😂.

2. Phone

They need to research all those queries bustling in their creative minds!. A phone may seem like a negative choice ( in some cases it may be so ), but your child will eventually grow up and will need independence. What are your thoughts on phones?.

3. 3d printer

Oohhhh 😃 we're getting techy!. 😝 Is your teen a total tech junkie?. If so a totally cool and up to date option would be an awesome 3d printer 👍😁. I am positive they will be estatic with established joy come Christmas morning 🌷.

4. iMac

Do you know what would be fab to go with the clever printer?. An iMac to speak the least!. This intelligent computer is tots what the nerdy teens are after ⭐.

I hope you all enjoyed this blog post as much as you will enjoy your Christmas 🎄. Have a great year and make sure to keep up to date with this blog because a little birdie told me that there will be a need blog post soon 😁.

Merry Christmas!.

My martial arts class. The three programme.

It was a gloomy, yet estatic Wednesday. The 10th of November 2020. My class, out if first year, in my secondary school, were going to have a self defense lesson. It was just a one-time thing and we wouldn't be having any more lessons after that.

I strolled along the pathway with a friend, ( let's call her 'kia' for privacy reasons). " I'm so excited!" I exclaimed.  We were heading to the local community centre. It was basically a room that schools and classes could borrow.

I had done karate when I was five and it was like a redemption/comeback of my beloved childhood.

We pulled into the square hall, witch seemed relaxed, with cream walls, and wooden floorboards. This was a voluntary thing by my countys county council, so thank you!.

There were instructors, a blonde haired woman and a small man, although the man did most of the communication. He opened up with, " has anyone done marcial arts before?". I instantly said that I had done karate.

We were then asked to form pairs. I chose Kia, the girl I had walked up with. Thirdly, he ordered for one partner from each pair to grab a single boxing glove. My natural instinct was that we would get to do some punching, but that was not the case. He instructed that one partner drops the glove into the space between the two partners and the other partner does 'small steps' in to retrieve it and pass it back to the other partner. Witch actually was tons of fun!.

Somewhere in between we did a mini workout l, then it was onto the extremely and utterly fun part of things. 'Kia' and other partners from other pairs, got a pad-like-thing ( i don't know the name sorry! ). They had to put their arm through it and hold the handle with their hand. The other partner would proceed to kick the pad in a specific sidewards way. I adored this specific and certain excersise!. Then it was 'kias' turn!. She was good, and had a wave of confidence plastered over initial dim fear.
Eventually, another mini workout occured. And then lots of stretching. However, for days me and 'kias' legs were killin' us!.

I was disappointed when it was time to go, but at least we had fun!. We got a groovy photograph, and that was that.

My first home economics class

Cooking, sowing, and catering for a living environment and family are important life skills. That is why I chose home economics as one of my three optional subjects in secondary school.

Due to Covid-19, my home ec class couldn't actually go to the home ec kitchen for a while, so we just did theory work, (work from the textbook 📚 ). However, today ( November 16th 2020 ), we finally were able to go into the kitchen!!. I had only been there twice before, once before Covid hit when my 5th class got to attend an 'open night'. And secondly, on the previous Thursday when the teacher was showing us around and explaining the diffrent contents of the room.

Today, we made apple crumble. It was an easy recipe and I am honoured that it was my first recipe in the home economics room!.

My partners, ( I can't use their names for privacy reasons, so I will call them ' Lucy ' and ' Mia ' ), were very kind and showed lots of respect, even though I messed up a few times!!!.

Firstly, we took out our materials, ( e.g sieve, basin, cooling tray. E.t.c ). Then we got apron's. Finally, it was time to get started.

Lucy and I chopped the apples into quarters, then into tiny pieces, and peeled the skins of them with knives, ( don't worry we were supervised! ). Mia got the flour and butter and kneed the dough. Later, when she was complete she helped me and Lucy with the four apples.

Eventually, we put the porridge into each of our one-use trays, then the berries, then the apples, then some sugar, then the dough, then sugar sprinkled on top. The other girls decided not to, but I wanted to add some cinnamon. I added a little too much, but it tasted fine!.

The preheated oven greeted the apple crumble and golden glory arrived twenty minutes later, after our clean up. We took them in our canvas bags, had one other class, went home and enjoyed. I shared with some of my family members.

Overall, I loved the expirence and I can't want to cook in the class again.

Time to take action

I feel as though it's a whole new era. New albums are out, I'm into studying...but the pandemic. Before the halloween mid term in Ireland, there was around one thousand cases a DAY. Now we get around 500-700 a day, witch is better, however there's still room for improvement.

The first month of school at my secondary school anyway, was moving swiftly Covid wise. We all understood the importance of facemasks, hand sanatizing, hand washing, social distancing, e.t.c.
However, currently, during the second term my class has begun to slip.

The teachers kept constantly reminding us about keeping our 1 metere distance at break time and inside, and our two metere distance if eating.

Covid is crazy, it started LAST SEPTEMBER and is still lurking around in the shadows currently during NOVEMBER 2020!. That's wild. Whilst we wait for a vaccine, we can only participate in what will prevent Covid-19 from entering our homes.

At school today I will hand sanatize frequently, wear my facemask and social distance.
